The
Innkeeper’s portrait features sea
oats against the Atlantic Ocean in
the background and suggests a desire
to live life as a beachcomber.
Though she chose the law instead,
the “Honeymoon” suite is dedicated
to her alter ego and named “Nags
Head.” The pencil post bed of old
walnut was handcrafted in New Bern,
NC; its specially designed mattress
was handmade at the North Carolina
School for the Blind in Raleigh. An
original painting by one of the crew
of Judge (then Captain) Peel’s ship
during the Korean War hangs in a
corner.
This
room includes a private bath,
separate vanity, TV/VCR, alarm
clock/CD player, ceiling fan and
high-speed internet access. Guests
may also use the breakfast room
across the hall for reading, working
at the computer desk, watching the
news or simply letting their partner
sleep a little longer.
